Scott Hague
Associate Conductor, Director of Youth Orchestras
Mr. Hague received his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Florida State University and his Masters Degree in Music Education and Specialist at the University of Georgia. During his time in the Florida State University Symphony Orchestra, he performed with many incredible musicians including Joshua Bell, violin; Eliot Chapo, violin; Karen Clarke, violin; Gary Kosloski, violin; Jamie Laredo, violin; Pamela Ryan, viola; Sharon Robinson, cello; and Denyce Graves, mezzo-soprano. He has also performed with the Tallahasse Symphony Orchestra, Valdosta Symphony, Northwest Florida Symphony, Albany Symphony, and the Athens Symphony.
In 1998, Mr. Hague was accepted in the Florida International Festival’s Bellsouth Youth Orchestra Program. The weeklong festival in Daytona Beach, FL included workshops and several performances with the visiting London Symphony Orchestra. In 1999, he became assistant director of the Tallahassee Symphony Youth Orchestra and began his private teaching studio. In 2002, he took part in a professional orchestra CD recording session performing double, triple, and piano concertos by one of America’s leading female composers, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich. The three-day session was held in Tallahassee, FL and lead by conductor Michael Stern. (KIC-CD-7537)
As Conductor of the Gwinnett Youth Chamber Orchestra in 2005, Mr. Hague led the group to a Gold Standard Rating at a local Music Festival. He is currently Director of Orchestras at Berkmar High School in Gwinnett County and serves as the violist for Atlanta’s “Poulenc String Quartet”. He is also an active member of the Georgia Music Educators Association and the American String Teacher’s Association.
