Eldon A. Smith
Associate Principal Viola, Orchestra Coach
Eldon A. Smith, born and raised in Kansas, attended Kansas State University. He holds BS in chemistry and biochemistry and a PhD in Anatomy and Physiology. He current works for Merial Limited, a veterinary pharmaceutical company in Duluth, GA. Eldon started as a violinist in 3rd grade, but later switched to viola in college. As a violinist he played with in Kansas City Youth Symphony, as well as several regional and state orchestras. In college he study in Germany on an exchange scholarship for a year and played with various university and community orchestras. After college he continued to play, performing with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera Orchestra, Seattle Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Eldon is proud to be a member of the Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra and is looking forward to many more years of exciting and challenging performances.
