A CONCERT FOR UKRAINE

In April of 2019, Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra music director, Robert Trocina had the honor to conduct the Chernivtsi Symphony Orchestra in Ukraine. Gwinnett Symphony Chorus music director, Rick Smith accompanied him on the journey. What they found there was a life changing experience. The people of Ukraine are beautiful, loving, hopeful, caring and giving. They are not wealthy, but they are rich with culture and with love. Their freedom is now under a horrendous attack by a tyrant. The death and destruction is unimaginable and we all pray for a diplomatic solution. The qualities Robert and Rick experienced from the Ukrainians in 2019 are shining through right now. These are strong and patriotic people who would rather die than give up their sovereignty and freedom to a dictator with aspirations of rebuilding the empire that was the Soviet Union.

This concert is a small way to show unity with the musicians and citizens of Ukraine during this terrible time. Please join us for this free concert and consider making a donation using the QR code located on the ticket, concert program or by clicking the donate button below.
